Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is one of our therapeutic offerings here at B&Q Acupuncture. It is often used as a complementary technique with other health treatments we provide.

This work is typically done with varying types of pressure coming down onto the body. Cupping is the opposite, as cupping therapy pulls muscles, skin, and connective tissue upwards through a negative pressure technique.

This increases circulation to stimulate healing as well as bringing more oxygen to areas of the body.

Cupping Therapy can help with

  • Pain (joint & muscle, acute & chronic)
  • Inflammation
  • Immunity
  • Digestion
  • Circulation

Does cupping therapy cause marks or bruising?

Although the marks can sometimes look painful, they are not. This is a common misconception about cupping.

Cupping marks are directly related to stagnant circulation. Toxins are released during the process, pulled from deeper layers in the body.

In most cases, the marks are dark after the first few treatments and then lighten over time as toxins are flushed out.
